Privacy Policy

Flipbook Maker (“we”, “us”) runs https://flipbookmaker.online. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

If you just use the maker without an account, your files never leave your device unless you publish. The flipbook you are working on is kept in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB and a small cookie) so you can come back to it. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

If you create an account, we store:

  • your name and email address, and a securely hashed password (we never see your password);
  • the flipbooks you publish: the pages, the title, the link (slug), and any author details you add such as a logo, website, phone or contact email;
  • daily view counts for each published flipbook — a number per day, with no information about who viewed it.

Published flipbooks are public. Anyone with the link can read and share them. By default we ask search engines not to list flipbooks. If you switch on Show in Google search for a public flipbook, we let search engines list its title, tagline, author name and About text (not its pages, which are images) and we include the flipbook in our sitemap; you can switch it off at any time, and listings update the next time a search engine visits. We can take a flipbook out of search if it breaks the rules in our Terms or has too little to be useful. We can't control where people post your link — don't publish anything you don't want to be public.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your data.
  • We don't show ads or use advertising trackers.
  • We don't record the IP address or identity of people who read your flipbooks, and we don't record which flipbook someone read in our own site statistics.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the website: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from (country and city level), the device and browser, and actions such as signing up or publishing a flipbook. It does not receive your files, your flipbooks' content, your password or your email. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. The admin area is not tracked.

We also count visits ourselves, in our own database, so we can see how the site is used without relying only on Google. For each page view we store the page address, how long the page stayed open, the website the visit came from (and any campaign tag in the link), your device type, browser, operating system, language and time zone, and actions such as building, publishing or sharing a flipbook, signing up or logging in, and searching the blog. Your browser gets a random visitor ID, and a random ID for each visit, stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. When you are signed in, these events are linked to your account. We don't store your IP address, we don't look up your location from it, and we don't record which published flipbook you read. The admin area, flipbooks embedded on other websites and automated bots aren't counted. Only site admins can see this data, and events are deleted after 13 months.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser; the site works the same either way.

Cookies and browser storage

Besides what the site needs to work — your sign-in session, your light/dark theme choice, and the unsaved flipbook you are working on — we set Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to count visits. Our own visit counting uses your browser's local storage (the keys fm-v and fm-s, holding two random IDs) instead of cookies; clearing this site's data in your browser removes them. There are no advertising or marketing cookies.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of providers to run the service:

  • Supabase — accounts, sign-in, the database and our own site statistics;
  • Backblaze B2 — storage for published flipbook files;
  • Railway — hosting for the website itself;
  • Google Analytics — website statistics (pages visited, approximate location, device), without your files or flipbook content;
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — the "are you human" check on sign-up and log-in forms, when it's switched on;
  • Google — only if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in.

They store data on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for anything else.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and published flipbooks until you delete them. When you delete a flipbook, its files are removed from storage. To delete your whole account, email us and we'll remove it and everything in it within 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights by law. Email support@flipbookmaker.online and we'll answer within 30 days.

Children

Flipbook Maker is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. Big changes will be announced on the site.
